"The price of freedom is to be true to yourself"
Recognize that how we think is so much more important than what we think.

Learner Centered EBBS is 'Learner Centered'
You will not be required to study the same subjects and use the same books as every other student. Our coaches/professors will work with you one-on-one to design a totally custom program curriculum that will help you to reach your professional and personal goals.
Allow yourself to set big enough goals, our coaches/tutors will assist in doing so. We will advice you to think big - to think outside the box. We believe your dreams have a better chance of coming true with a creative strategy. Incorporated in our way of doing is the obligation to develop a Personal Learning Contract (see EBBS Personal Learning Tools). Our coaches will provide you with a good role model for professional and personal success. They all are (or have been) consultants, CEO's, entrepreneurs, or corporate executives. Our faculty will coach, mentor, tutor, advise and inspire you. They have been chosen for their real-world professional experience and their high level of successful intelligence, not just their academic degrees. Their experience as CEO's, corporate executives, consultants, entrepreneurs and authors will help them, help you, achieve professional and personal success, as they work with you one-on-one. EBBS coaches/tutors are not retired-on-the-job tenured professors, but most of the time young and middle-aged entrepreneurs themselves. They joined us because they believe there needs to be a fundamental change in university education. No examinations are required. Grades are based on:
1. the entrepreneurial projects you do 2. the papers you write Your entrepreneurial, research, writing, and other related communication skills, not your test-taking ability, determine your success in business. Because you will choose topics that are relevant to your career and personal goals, your research and writing will always have a practical application. Unlike examination-based courses that result mostly in short-term learning, our program offers a more effective and interesting method of learning. Studying and writing on topics related to your goals will increase your creativity, problem solving ability and practical skills. You design your own custom courses by creating entrepreneurial (international) partnerships and enhance your knowledge by reading and intercultural communication. To do a practical unit or course you use your entrepreneurial business (project) and/or your entrepreneurial (international) partnership. Next you will write a learning journal (see EBBS Personal Learning Tools) about how you implemented one or more ideas and/or coped with challenges, solved actual practical problems etc. The problems you solve in your practical courses come from your entrepreneurial practice, and/or from your personal life. A research unit or course, unlike a practical course, does not require you to directly implement the solution to a specific practical problem. Instead you identify and evaluate many possible solutions. A research course requires the study of information from numerous sources. In some cases, a research course will involve collecting and analyzing original data. We will coach you on surfing the Internet. You finalize by writing a paper or essay. Practical and research units/courses will usually take 60 hours to complete and earn you two credits. Your coach may grant you three or more credits when you have spent more than our guideline of 30 hours per credit on your course, and your course paper justifies additional credits. You can get ideas for topics and books to use for a custom research course by browsing books at a bookstore, online (check out Amazon's Business Book Categories) or at your local library. Ideas and materials for custom courses can also be found in online print magazines and journals. Course papers, excluding the appendices, usually must not have more than 3500 words. There is no limit on the number of words in the appendices. With permission of the Dean/Head Coach you may exceed these limits. A formal academic style of writing is not required. How to get your books You can obtain your paperback, hardback, and audio books by having them shipped to you. You can also download many course books as e-books or audio books or in some cases read them online. And here we make use of the world of barter and complementary currencies for acquisition and payment as well. If you have extensive experience in a particular area, you can earn credits by coaching or teaching others. You can earn credits by writing/creating an article, book, website, seminar, video or other kind of information resource that can teach others how to succeed in their career (industry or profession) or any other aspect of their life. Your project must be based primarily on your own experience. EBBS Competence Model.
The EBBS program is based on practical experience - action learning. The main purpose, therefore, is not just for the students/entrepreneurs to build up their own
knowledge and competencies, but also their ability to convert these to action in the appropriate situations and contexts. The EBBS program is designed not only with the aim of acquiring qualifications – knowledge - but also competencies – the ability to act - within the EBBS area of expertise.
Competencies are understood by EBBS not only as being in relation to a given situation or context, but also as an integrated personal characteristic, as opposed to qualifications that traditionally belong to a specific discipline. In this respect, EBBS considers that the areas of study and personal development neither can nor should be separated. Even more so, we believe personal development is key.
